Winning Powerball Ticket Sold At 7-Eleven

Within minutes of Wednesday night's record Powerball jackpot drawing, lottery officials in California announce that one winning ticket had been sold in Chino Hills. Texas has yet to report if any winning tickets were sold here. Hopefully, within the next few hours we will find out how many winners there were nationwide. If that one ticket in California turns out to be the only winning Powerball ticket sold, the United States has a new billionaire.

Mexican Drugs Disguised As Carrots

The folks who try to smuggle drugs from Mexico into the United States have always been creative in their techniques to hide contraband, but recently when they used fake carrot-shaped containers and were caught it was really something cool to look at. From a distance it is pretty easy to confuse those fake carrot-shaped containers from the real kind that are grown on Mexican farms and imported into the United States. It turns out that $500 thousand worth of marijuana was stashed away in those fake carrots.

Watchdog Group Says It's A Scam

I have to admit I have wondered the same thing myself. A watchdog group who works for the Lotto Report just announced that something is fishy about the Powerball lottery, because even with astronomical odds. At least one person should have won Saturday's jackpot in the amount of $949 million dollars. The group claims that it's unbelievable from a mathematical standpoint for more than 440 million tickets to be sold without someone winning the big prize.

There are only 292 million combinations of numbers available in the current white and red ball system, so it appears the odds of someone NOT winning last Saturday are much greater than someone getting the numbers right. With so much excitement in the air, I hope this whole Powerball lottery game is not just a scam. However, with this much money involved and at stake. Anything is possible.

Step Mom Kills 6-Year-Old Child

A woman has been arrested in East Texas and charged with the murder of her 6-year-old stepson at the Logan's Pointe Apartments in Franklin County. Christie Lynn Roycroft was taken into custody shortly after arriving at the scene. According to witnesses, when officers arrived Roycroft walked out of the front door of her apartment and handed something (possibly a weapon) to the police. She was then handcuffed and arrested.

When deputies with the sheriff's office went inside the apartment, they found the young boy's body inside. Reporters who talked to neighbors said Benjamin Roycroft seemed like a very happy young man. His body was sent to Dallas for autopsy. Few other details are available at this time.
