Boy Accidentally Killed Himself

This is a horrible story about a 4-year-old boy by the name of Bryson Hernandez. Early Wednesday morning while staying at his grandparents house near Cypress Texas, Hernandez got his hands on a loaded gun and accidentally shot himself. He was taken to a hospital where he later died. Evidence will be presented to a grand jury who will decide if charges will be filed in this case. According to family members, Bryson was a happy young man who loved to watch movies and television shows about superheroes. Please, if you own a gun make sure it is locked away so small children are not able to get their hands on it.

Suspended For Taking Sick Girl To Nurse

It's easy to get caught up in stories like this one without knowing all the fact, but at first sight it seems wrong. On Tuesday, an 8th grade student at the Killeen Gateway Middle School was suspended when he helped a sick girl go to the nurse's office. The girl, who suffered from asthma, complained to her teacher that she could not breath. Following school policy, the teacher emailed the nurse for instructions. However, in the meantime the girl passed out on the floor. Without getting the permission of the teacher, the girl's classmate decided to take it upon himself and helped the girl get to the nurse's office. When he returned to class, his teacher told him he was suspended from school for one-day, because he left class without permission. In fairness to the teacher, this young man has reportedly had a history of disobedience in class. The school had no comment.

Why Was Chet Shelton A Free Man?

It's was clear for years that 27-year-old Chet Shelton was not a safe person to be around children, but at every turn it appears the legal system put him back out on the streets until a 2-year-old little boy was killed earlier this month. In 2007, Shelton was indicted for the sexual assault of two girls under the age of 14-years-old. In that case, he plead guilty to a lessor charge and was sentenced to five years probation which he later violated and was sentenced to five years in prison. He was released in 2015 and was on parole when he allegedly assaulted little Makai Brooks so badly he died from his injuries. As part of his parole agreement, Shelton was ordered to take anger control classes and sex offender counseling. It is unclear if he took or completely either of those requirements.

Here is part of the autopsy report that has been released for Makai Brooks.

“A medical examiner at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences ruled the Gatesville toddler’s death a homicide and said it was caused by blunt force trauma to the head and internal injuries and that prior to his death the boy had been anally penetrated which caused “severe and distinct trauma,” Texas Ranger Jason Bobo, an investigator on the case, says in the arrest affidavit.”

This case has angered many Texans not only because a little 2-year-old boy died, but because the Texas legal system could not keep this monster from hurting other children even after it was proven that he was a threat.

Something needs to change so this does not happen again.
