BBQ & Guns, Only In Texas

If you are a big fan of 'Open Carry' and love to eat great barbecue, you need to visit Brooks Place in Houston. While they don't allow customers to bring their pets or wear shorts or saggy pants, if you bring your firearm you will receive a 10% discount off your order. My guess is there are few robberies at Brooks Place, even though it is not in the best part of town. I don't know about you, but just looking at that picture of barbecue is making me very hungry.

Dr. Used Homeless To Peddle Pain Killers

It just seems cruel to use people who are already down on their luck to make yourself even richer, but that is what allegedly has been happening in Texas and Louisiana. A doctor, pharmacist and others have been involved in a criminal enterprise where they paid homeless people as little as $30 to go into pharmacies to fill prescriptions for painkillers that were then sold for profit to drug addicts. Investigators claim that more than 150,000 painkiller prescriptions in one McAllen clinic alone were written that way. Dr. Richard Andrews of Dallas, Muhammad Faridi of Murphy, Adrian Banks of Dallas and Ndufola Kigham of Arlington have been charged in a federal court in DFW.

Saturday Is National Pie Day

There are few things in life I enjoy more than a good piece of pie. Tomorrow, Saturday, is 'National Pie Day'. What kind of pie do you like the best? For me: pumpkin, pecan and cherry are my favorites. I also like one type of pie that is actually called a cake (cheese cake). In recent years, the food police have turned almost everything we love to eat into something that is suppose to be bad for us. At least on Saturday I can enjoy those delicious pies and say I'm just celebrating a holiday! Enjoy 'National Pie Day'.

On Thursday, police released additional information about Koch including information as to his continued use of methamphetamine and other dangerous mind altering drugs.
