Another Million Dollar Burned By Hot Coffee Lawsuit


HOUSTON - Katherine Mize went to the drive-thru window in her vehicle to get her order at a Starbucks in Houston. The barista, identified in the lawsuit as Brie, handed Mize a 20-ounce cup of coffee. Mize alleges that Brie squeezed the cup when she handed it to her, causing the top to come off. Mize is seeking $200,000 to $1 million for past and future physical pain, mental anguish, physical impairment, medical expenses, loss of earning capacity and physical disfigurement.

Charged With Manslaughter After Child's Hot Car Death


MELISSA - A North Texas man has been charged with manslaughter in the death of his 6-month-old daughter. Capt. Jim Moody of the Collin County Sheriff's Department says deputies were called about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday to the family home in Melissa, about 40 miles north of Dallas. Michael Thedford, 33, reportedly told investigators that he left his baby in a vehicle in front of his home.

Off-Duty El Paso Police Officer Arrested For DWI


EL PASO - DPS says the El Paso police officer, who the department has identified as 26-year-old Alan Eduardo Dieguez, was charged with DWI and misdemeanor unlawful carrying of a weapon. He has been booked in the Williamson County Jail.

Northbound I-35 Closed After Fiery Crash


JARRELL - A fiery crash involving a car and three 18-wheelers early Tuesday morning on Interstate 35 near Jarrell left one person dead and sent three others to Seton Medical Center Williamson in Round Rock.

Adult Twin Sisters Murdered In McKinney
