Paul Hidalgo & Leslie Whittington Missing From Van Zandt County


VAN ZANDT COUNTY - The Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office says the FBI National Crime Information Center listed the two adults and four children as missing on June 16. Officials say Paul Hidalgo and Leslie Whittington fled with the children who are in legal custody of the state of Texas. Hidalgo is 5 feet 9 inches tall, with brown hair and eyes and Whittington is 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighs about 120 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes, according to the department. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information in the case.

Carter Wilbanks (11) Back Home After Paralyzing Car Wreck


NEW BRAUNFELS - A little boy recovering from an accident that left him paralyzed is finally back at home. Carter Wilbanks, 11, spent nearly six weeks in a coma after a car accident in Waco, TX. He was being treated in Houston, at Texas Children's Hospital. The healing process is still long for Carter, but his family is not giving up the fight.

Guadalupe Garza, Victor Bovkoun, Kevin Battise Killed In Royse City Crash


ROYSE CITY - The three victims in the triple fatal crash in Royse City involving two 18 wheelers, have been identified. The drivers of the 18 wheelers were identified as 38-year-old Guadalupe Garza Jr. of Lyford, Texas and 53-year-old Victor Bovkoun of Ontario, Canada. The driver of the passenger vehicle was Kevin Battise, 56, of Mesquite.

Texas Leads The Nation In Hot Car Child Deaths


TEXAS - Most Texans love to brag about being number one in various things, but there is one category where the Lone Star State is at the top of the list and it's not a good one. Texas leads the nation in the number of deaths of small children who are left in hot cars and we should work hard to change that fact. During the summer months, it is not uncommon to read news reports of small children losing their lives in hot cars on almost a weekly basis.

Intentionally Set Fire Damages Wilson Park Playground


TEMPLE - Around 6 p.m. on Wednesday, 3 firefighting units responded to a playground fire at Wilson Park, which resulted in extensive damage to the playground itself and a nearby tree. Temple Police also responded to the call. The damage is estimated at $250,000. No one was injured. The playground equipment, which was installed last fall, was not part of the 2015 City of Temple's Parks Bond Package and will need to be replaced.
