West Texas 18-Wheeler Fire In Howard County


HOWARD COUNTY - Firefighters from Martin and Howard County were busy Friday morning after an 18-wheeler caught on fire. Howard County Volunteer Fire Chief Tommy Sullivan said the 18-wheeler was traveling from Big Spring to Lamesa with produced water that had been pumped from an oil well. Sullivan said a mechanical failure caused the brake system to overheat and the back tires to catch fire.

Police Chase With 12-Year-Old Girl In Montgomery County


MONTGOMERY COUNTY - A 12-year-old girl who allegedly took her grandmother's car on a high-speed joyride will remain in police custody over the weekend. Investigators say that girl led police in a chase, reaching speeds of up to 100 miles per hour, sideswiping vehicles and putting lives at risk.

TEXAS - A Texas man who was nearly killed in a drunk driving crash is using his tragedy to change lives. Texas leads the nation in drunk driving deaths. Last year, 19 people died in drunk driving crashes during the Fourth of July weekend and the total number of deaths in Texas for 2015 reached 960. While hundreds die each year in drunk driving crashes, many survive. Sean Carter is one of them.

Darryl Hill (22) Arrested For Intentionally Driving Car Into Trampoline Filled With Kids


TEMPLE - Temple Police have identified Darryl Hill, 22, as the man who struck seven kids who were playing on a trampoline with his car Thursday afternoon. Police say Hill's vehicle hit the trampoline intentionally after getting into an altercation with people inside the home. The seven kids were evaluated on scene by Temple Fire and Rescue but were not injured.

Assistant Principal Jacob Michael Camacho Arrested For Cocaine Possession (McAllen)


MCALLEN - Agents with the Hidalgo County High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area task force caught an assistant principal at McAllen High School with cocaine last month, according to the criminal complaint against him. Investigators charged Jacob Michael Camacho, 40, of McAllen with possession of a controlled substance, a state jail felony. Camacho remains employed with the McAllen Independent School District, which placed him on administrative leave, according to district spokesman Mark May. Court records don't list an attorney for Camacho, who couldn't be reached for comment.
