Townsend-Whitfield Were Killeen Dollar General Fatalities

KILLEEN - Police Tuesday identified a man and a woman who died in what authorities say was a murder-suicide at a Killeen Dollar General store as Erica Denise Townsend-Whitfield, 22, of Killeen and her estranged husband Angelo Myshun Townsend-Whitfield, 23, of Chicago. Both died of gunshot wounds early Sunday afternoon at the store at 4102 Watercrest Rd. in Killeen. A preliminary investigation determined that Angelo Townsend-Whitfield walked into the store, shot his estranged wife to death, and then turned the gun on himself, police said. Angelo Townsend-Whitfield was an active-duty Marine who was stationed in California, police said. The shooting was reported at around 1:10 p.m. Sunday.
