It's Not Rocket Science, But A Lack Of Respect

TEXAS - Most thinking Texans have noticed that one of the few things in short supply today is respect. People talk about it or the lack there of all the time, but it's pretty clear that few people have respect for anything anymore. While the news media focuses on bad cops and criminals hurting police, most folks know this problem with lack of respect is much more widespread than that.

Whether it is calling a company to complain about services rendered or an employer who could care less about the folks who work for him or her, the world has evolved into a narcissistic cesspool of - if it don't affect me then I don't want to hear about it. I know that a lack of respect is at the core of what's wrong in the world today, but I don't know how you get millions of people who only care about themselves to start giving a darn about others?

Maybe all we can do is treat others with respect expecting nothing in return? While that won't fix what is wrong in the world today, it might help a few more of us sleep a little better at night.

El Paso Mayor Standing Up For Police Chief After Comments

EL PASO TEXAS - Some city leaders are standing up for El Paso police Chief Greg Allen, who called Black Lives Matter a radical hate group. A special meeting about other city business just ended. Mayor Oscar Leeser said he's disappointed the letter was sent to them by local leaders before they tried talking to Allen themselves. "No one had had any conversation with the chief, so that's all I want to talk about the letter. I find it inappropriate to have been sent, to be honest with you, and I'm a little bit offended that they would've done that without having a conversation first," Leeser said.
