At least four people including the driver of an 18-wheeler are in the hospital after a major wreck on Interstate 20 in Harrison County on Monday.
According to the Department of Public Safety, sometime before 7a.m., a driver of an 18-wheeler for WLR drove off the road into a median near mile Marker 617, about a mile west of the U.S. Highway 59 exit on I-20.
The driver attempted to get back on the road causing the 18-wheeler to overturn and snarled up with eight other vehicles.
According to Jean Dark with DPS, the semi-trailer was loaded with plywood which multiple passenger cars crashed while attempting to avoid the hazard.
Officials estimate that all westbound lanes of I-20 will be closed for several hours until the scene in cleared.
