A 25-year-old man was taken to SAMMC in critical condition Friday night after police said he was shot twice while changing a car battery.
Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Wyoming Street in San Antonio just before 7 p.m. for the shooting.
Authorities on scene said two men in a blue Toyota sedan came up to the man and fired several rounds, hitting the victim twice in the leg and torso.
The victim's girlfriend attempted to drive him to the hospital on her own, but while on the phone with 9-1-1 she was instructed to pull over so that emergency crews could take him to the hospital.
Police do not have any suspects in custody.
