State District Judge Ralph Strother agreed Friday to delays the trials of the first of the dozens of bikers indicted after the deadly May 2015 shootout between rival biker gangs and police at Waco’s Twin Peaks restaurant.
Christopher Julian Carrizal, his son Christopher Jacob Carrizal, and Jerry Edward Pierson, all of Dallas, were scheduled to go on trial on April 17, McLennan County District Attorney Abel Reyna said.
But after a show cause hearing Friday morning in Waco, Strother granted a request for a continuance from defense attorney Landon Northcutt, who represents the three, all of whom were identified as members of the Bandidos.
Strother said he won’t set a new trial date until he consults with State District Court Judge Matt Johnson on case scheduling.
