Woman Gets 20-Years For DWI Murder

An Odessa woman has been sentenced to 20 years in prison on federal murder charges after a 2015 crash.

Rebecca Leigh Dugas was driving a 2012 Scion, when she struck a Toyota Corolla killing three people, and injuring three others.

The sentence was handed down by Senior District Judge Jay Gibson after the guilty plea was entered.

The sentence stems from a May 31, 2015 traffic accident in which Dugas, then 37, collided with a vehicle driven by 24 year old Jennifer Limon of alpine, killing three people and injuring three more, including Dugas.

Monahans News reports Dugas was originally charged with three counts of intoxication manslaughter among several other felony charges but the charges have since been upgraded to murder.
