Emergency crews with several agencies worked together to search for a woman presumed to have been swept away by flood waters in Guadalupe County early Friday morning.
According to the Cibolo Police Department, they initially received a call for help at about 1 a.m. from a woman who said she was in a car surrounded by water.
Officers were unable to locate the woman.
At about 4 a.m., crews with the Texas Department of Transportation were on the I-10 frontage road near Santa Clara Road where more than three feet of water was running over the road when they heard a man screaming for help.
More crews were called out to the scene, but the man could not be seen in the darkness; he was rescued after sunrise. He was found clinging to a tree and suffering from hypothermia and some cuts and bruises.
The victim told crews he and his wife were swept away in flood waters as they drove down the frontage road. Crews continued to search for the missing woman and car.
