Victim Johnathan Ashford Killed By Wife's Lover

The name of a 34-year-old man who was shot and killed by a man believed to be his romantic rival has been released.

The victim is identified as Johnathan Ashford, the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office said Thursday.

Ashford was shot six times by William Perkins Jr., 39, a police report said. Perkins was arrested and charged with murder.

The victim confronted Perkins around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of an East Side strip mall in the 200 block of South W.W. White Road, when Perkins opened fire, police said.

Perkins, who called police about the shooting, was apparently having an affair with Ashford's wife, police said.
