Kirbyville Principal Told Either Quit Or Be Fired

Shortly before his death last week, Kirbyville High School principal Dennis Reeves was given an ultimatum in a meeting with the district superintendent and an assistant superintendent - either resign or be fired - sources close to the investigation said.

The information would contradict what Superintendent Tommy Wallis told us in an interview last week, when he downplayed rumors that Reeves had been fired before he was found with what police believe to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head while sitting inside of his truck in the campus parking lot.

A staff meeting to address the principal's death will be held Tuesday at the high school.
