Power Outages In Corpus Christi & Aransas Pass

AEP Texas has been working to restore power to part of Corpus Christi and Aransas Pass after a severe thunderstorm early this morning left about 16,000 residents without power.

Affected areas include the the Southside, Northwest and Midtown of Corpus Christi and Aransas Pass.

According to AEP officials, about 8,500 residents were without power as of 11 a.m. They estimated power will be restored by 8 p.m. for Midtown and 10 p.m. for all other affected areas.

AEP called on crews from around the area to help with restoring power, however conditions such as flooding and mud have made reaching some customers difficult, according to a news release.
