Racoon Hitches Ride On Garbage Truck

A daring raccoon was able to get from Rosslyn all the way to Falls Church in a very interesting way – it hitched a ride on the back of a trash truck.

Texas Teacher Fired For "Kill Some Jews" Post

A pre-school teacher in Texas who encouraged social media followers to “kill some Jews” and repeatedly mocked the Holocaust was fired on Wednesday, Fox News confirmed.

Nancy Salem had taught at The Children’s Courtyard, an “educational day care” in South Arlington.

“This person no longer works for our company,” a spokesperson for The Children’s Courtyard told Fox News in an email.

Couple Kicked Off Flight For Racist Comments

A man was removed from a United Airlines flight bound for Houston after making multiple racist comments to a couple in front of him.

According to KHOU, passengers were boarding a flight in Chicago when an unidentified man asked a Pakistani-Indian couple, "That's not a bomb in your bag, is it?"

After the man repeated the question, a passenger who heard the remarks left her seat and approached flight attendants.

The Pakistani women also left her seat to speak with flight attendants, informing them of other comments the man had made, including asking her Indian boyfriend where he was from as well as telling them, "all illegals and all foreigners need to leave the country."

Shortly after, the man and a young woman accompanying him on the flight were asked by United employees to gather their belongings and leave the plane, a moment another passenger recorded.


Texas Woman Arrested For 3rd Time For Shoplifting

Odessa police arrested a woman after stealing $238 worth of merchandise from H-E-B.

Authorities were called out to the store on 3801 East 42nd Street on Monday in reference to a shoplifter.

The suspect was identified as Jackie Duralia, 43.

Upon investigation, OPD was told Duralia attempted to leave without paying.

They later discovered Duralia has two prior theft convictions out of Ector and Midland County.

She was arrested and charged with theft with at least two prior convictions.


Police Officer Found Dead At Larado Shooting Range

Authorities in South Texas are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a police officer whose body was found at a shooting range used by law enforcement personnel.

Officials say a U.S. Border Patrol agent discovered the body of Lt. David Medina at the range Tuesday in Laredo. Medina was an officer with the Laredo school district.

Husband Age 91 Murders 40-Year-Old Wife

A 91-year-old Galveston man shot his 40-year-old wife in the heart Monday before turning the gun on himself, according to the medical examiner.

The bodies of Byron and Dulce Everts were found in their West End home by Byron’s son.

Neighbors in the quiet neighborhood on Beluche Drive told investigators they heard gunshots earlier that morning.

The autopsy showed Dulce was shot twice and Byron once.


Bald Eagle Shot Out Of Tree In Harris County

There is shock and outright anger in northwest Harris County after the killing of a bald eagle.

"My son came out and I told him what happened," says resident Dale Jozwiak. "He was about in tears."

Witnesses said that a group of teenagers who live in the Woodland Oaks neighborhood are responsible for shooting the national symbol from the top of a tree next to Whiteoak Bayou.

It happened near Highway 290 and Fairbanks North Houston Road.

Eric Garcia and his father were exercising along a nearby trail when they say they came across the bird eating fish.

"We had to just sit there for at least a couple of minutes and just watch it. It was just amazing," says Garcia. "You don't see that every day."

Eric says they left to finish their exercise, and when they returned the eagle was no longer in the tree but lying on the ground.


Man Told Police "He's The Law" Before Being Arrested

A man who painted himself with black makeup was arrested Monday in Denton on intoxication and drug paraphernalia charges after he was reportedly running through traffic.

Joseph Augustini, 25, was arrested after witnesses told police he was “jumping in and out of traffic” near East McKinney St and Oakland St.

Officers found him in an agitated state in the 1000 block of W. Hickory St. His arms, face and torso were painted black. when police told him about the phone calls reporting he was in the roadway, Augustini said, “I know the law, I am the law!” When asked his name, the man repeatedly said,“I’m allowed to break the law,” according to police.

Announcing the “feral hog apocalypse” is within reach, Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller has approved of the first pesticide targeting wild pigs, CBS Dallas reports.

The estimated 2.5 million feral hogs in Texas cost an estimated $50 million a year in damage to Texas agriculture, according to the Austin American-Statesman. In addition to the damage to crops and livestock tanks, hogs cost untold damage to suburban yards.

Miller said they will use the pesticide, Kaput Feral Hog Lure, as bait food laced with warfarin which is the same drug used to kill rats. It can also be prescribed by doctors, in smaller doses, to prevent blood clots

But the move has upset hunters, who’ve gathered more than 1,200 signatures in opposition within two days.
