A fire caused by residents cooking out on a grill left a family without a home. All of their belongings were lost in the fire as well. This fire, which started around 2:30 p.m., happened on Windrock Street off Rockwell Road in Randall County.

Flames and smoke could be seen from beyond the highway as the blaze burned three structures, including the home. Several agencies responded to the fire, which continued to spread due to high wind gusts. The fire was out by about 4:30 p.m., with a few hot spots still being treated.

"I gotta wear a tux, gotta wear my black boots, and my hat,” said Mr. McNamara.

His badge will also be donned, no doubt.

McNamara and his wife Charlotte got an invite, not for the role he played in the movie, but for the role he played in Texas law enforcement decades before the film ever existed.
