19-Gunshots Fired At Fort Hood Soldiers In Park

NEW BRAUNFELS - A group of soldiers trying to calm down a fighting couple found themselves in the middle of a shootout in New Braunfels early Monday. The New Braunfels Police Department says the seven Fort Hood soldiers were at Prince Solms Park around 1 a.m. when they tried to stop the fight. Thinking everything was fine the soldiers went back to relaxing. But the soldiers told investigators the woman grabbed a gun from the couple's car and handed it to her boyfriend. Before the boyfriend even fired a shot the soldiers heard the slide being pulled on the pistol, chambering a round. The boyfriend is accused of firing 19 times at the soldiers as the scattered for cover.
