2-Home Invaders Killed In Henderson County

On Monday, the Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse said two men were shot and killed Sunday in the Athens area after they invaded a home and attempted to rob two residents.

“It was a home invasion and attempted robbery that went very bad,” the Sheriff said.

Sheriff Hillhouse said the incident occurred on Hopson Drive in the Athens area.

The home owners suffered minor injuries.

The names of the two deceased will be release as warranted, according to Sheriff Hillhouse.

The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, Henderson County District Attorney’s Office, and the Texas Rangers are investigating this incident.

Henderson County Justice of the Peace Precinct 4 Milton Adams conducted an inquest at the scene and ordered the deceased to be sent to American Forensics for an autopsy.

Henderson County 392nd District Judge Scott McKee issued a search warrant for the residence.

“This is an active, ongoing investigation and I will provide additional information as it becomes available,” Hillhouse said.
