500 New Jobs Might Be Coming To San Antonio

Mayor Ivy Taylor confirmed that San Antonio is one of two cities in the running to become home to Hulu's expanded offices, following a meeting local leaders attended in Los Angeles Tuesday.

Hulu is a video streaming service that offers movies, television shows and original content.

“We are always actively pursuing companies throughout the U.S. and the world,” Taylor said. “In this case, we made a pitch for Hulu to expand to San Antonio and bring with it hundreds of good-paying, high tech jobs.”

Taylor's office said a potential deal with Hulu could mean 300 jobs coming to San Antonio in 2017, and up to 500 in the coming years.

Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff, Jenna Saucedo-Herrera, president & CEO of the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation, and tech industry leaders including David Heard of TechBloc also attended the LA meeting with Hulu.
