One Killed In Amarillo Drive By Shooting

An early morning Sunday drive-by shooting in the 2600 block of Rule Street has left one man dead, and the Amarillo Police Department and the Potter and Randall Counties Special Crimes Unit are releasing very little information about the incident or their investigation.

A 30-year-old man who has not been named died at the scene, according to APD Officer Jeb Hilton.

Police were called to a residence on Rule Street at 1:01 a.m. Sunday on the report of a shooting, according to Hilton. When officers arrived they discovered that a group of people had been standing in the front yard of one of the residences, and according to witnesses a vehicle drove by and its occupants began shooting at them.
