Paying Tribute To Fallen Firefighter Scott Deem

A 130-strong procession of fire trucks and emergency vehicles left the parking lot of the Alamodome just after 9 a.m. Friday as San Antonio paid a final tribute to Scott Deem, the firefighter who died last week while attempting to save potential victims in a Northwest Side fire.

The first procession will travel north on U.S. 281 to the Community Bible Church at 2477 Loop 1604.

Mourners who want to pay tribute can gather on every highway overpass, where the San Antonio Fire Department will park fire trucks to keep spectators safe. The overpasses will still be open to traffic, so drivers are cautioned against stopping or slowing on the overpasses.
