8-Men Arrested In Waco Human Trafficking Sting

Eight men were arrested during a four-hour undercover online human trafficking sting Wednesday, in one of the busiest single-day sting operations for local authorities, McLennan County Sheriff Parnell McNamara said.

McLennan County Sheriff’s Office investigators kicked off the operation at 7:30 a.m. when detectives posted an online advertisement for prostitution. Undercover officers arraigned for meetings with men at a local motel Wednesday and quickly received 24 responses in the first hour from men interested in paying a woman for sex, McNamara said.

“This is targeting the demand which fuels the supply,” he said. “You know, you expect to have a large response maybe on a Friday or on the weekend, but I don’t think you would expect to have this many responses on a Wednesday morning.”
