Man Who Raped 12-Year-Old Granted Joint Custody Of Child Conceived

A convicted rapist has been awarded joint custody of the now 9-year-old boy who was conceived as a result of the rape of a 12-year-old girl in 2008.

Sanilac County, Mich., Judge Gregory Ross granted joint custody to Christopher Mirasolo, 27, a registered Michigan sex offender in a decision the rape victim’s attorney, Rebecca Kiessling, told the Detroit News was “insane.”

"The judge also restricted the child's domicile and residence, disclosed the rape victim's home address to her rapist, and ordered his name on the birth certificate, all without the mother's consent or any opportunity to be heard,” she told the newspaper.

"Nothing has been right about this since it was originally investigated. He was never properly charged and should still be sitting behind bars somewhere, but the system is victimizing my client, who was a child herself when this all happened."

According to Detroit media reports, Mirasolo is on parole and barred from schools, child care centers and required to be with another adult if he’s with a child younger than 17. KWTX
